Upcycle Candle in Reclaimed Champagne Bottle

Description

Sophistication meets playful, with these super cool candle creations by Upcycle! The candles are moulded inside upcycled champagne bottles, where the labels or brands are being left intact and exposed, to lend a chic yet sassy look. Perfect as a conversation starting decor item, a special gift for a special someone, to give atmosphere, or just because they are so pretty and practical (thanks to Eskom).

It uses hemp wicks, and gives about 14 hours burn time.

Being made from waste glass is what makes these candles truly unique – every one is different with its own character. It also makes these candles a better choice than candles in virgin glass… Because even though glass is infinitely recyclable and chemically stable, the recycling process is quite energy intensive. If waste glass can be reused or repurposed before being recycled, that is much more energy efficient than simply sending it for recycling after first use. After the candles are burnt out, these glass containers can be used as funky cooldrink tumblers, or sent for recycling.

Either way, the planet scores, while you get a practical show-piece!

Reclaimed waste glass champagne bottle with original label, hemp wick, paraffin wax (unscented)

Caution:

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Always leave at least 10cm between candles. Do not burn on or near anything that can catch fire. Wax will slowly turn to liquid as it burns. Be careful of hot liquid wax & hot bowl.
