Description
Mini Matters Airflo nappy range is made using the latest technology in waterproof and breathable membranes to ensure the utmost comfort for your baby. This version of the range come in the cutest prints and patterns – they are stunning enough to make a very special baby shower gift, or just to dress up your own little one in something eye-catching. Because – hey! – being practical doesn’t mean you can’t have pizazz!
The cover consists of two layers:
- The TPU membrane is soft, stretchy and wipeable. It provides moisture protection against wetness while allowing tiny molecules of moisture vapour to pass through, therefore preventing build-up of heat inside the nappy.
- The moisture wicking outer layer is knitted into a high-tech pattern to increase evaporation over a wider surface area. It draws the moisture vapour away through capillary action, thus creating a cooling ‘airflow’ effect as evaporation thought the TPU membrane is maximized.
In simple terms, this solution keeps your baby’s bottom as cool and airy as possible without compromising on waterproof protection.
Why use reusable cloth nappies instead of disposable nappies? Because:
- Cloth made from natural fibres such as cotton, hemp or bamboo are breathable and free from chemicals found in disposables, i.e. healthier for your baby’s skin, leading to fewer rashes, skin irritations and tears
- It’s reusable, i.e. more cost-effective than disposables in the long run (do the maths how many disposable nappies a baby needs in total, compared to a few full-time reusable nappies in total)
- Because it’s reusable and biodegradable, it is more environmentally friendly (a disposable nappy takes 450 years to break down… do the maths on how many disposable nappies are trashed for a single baby… that’s a lot of single-use trash that literally takes centuries to decompose! A cloth nappy takes 6 months to decompose in a hot compost pile at home)
- Because Mini Matters cloth nappies are durable, popular and highly prized, it also has great resell value on the second-hand market for mums looking to save.
Directions for use:
On the bum (day or night):
- Option 1: Use a fitted nappy as insert – fold the fitted nappy around baby and secure in place with the velcro snap
- Option 2: Use a flat nappy as insert – fold the flat nappy in a triangle or pad-fold it, wrap around baby and secure in place with a Snappi
- Option 3: Use a prefold nappy as insert – wrap around baby and secure in place with a Snappi
- Optionally add a booster (for extra absorbency) or a suedecloth liner (for easier cleaning of solids)
- Put the Airflo cover on baby, adjusting the outside studs to fit your baby’s body size
- The cover can be wiped between uses and only the insert is changed, generally up to three times or leave the cover on overnight, before a change of cover is needed
- The cover is suitable for day or nighttime use, and should be replaced with another cover in the morning
- When it’s time to change the cover, remove the insert, wipe down the cover if necessary and put it with the laundry stash
Note:
Recommended for daytime or nighttime use.
Washing:
Wash covers with your other cloth diapers in a normal machine cycle. Do not wash at temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, do not tumble dry. The use of bleach and other chemicals can damage the PU layer. Line dry out of direct sunlight. See our Complete Nappy Laundry 101 Guide for details.
Bum cream:
Cloth nappies are much healthier than disposables and will lead to fewer nappy rashes; however, it can still occur. Avoid using conventional bum creams, barrier creams or petroleum jellies. The artificial and non-biodegradable chemicals affect the absorbency of your nappy and can cause buildÂ-up on the fibres, reducing the nappy’s efficiency. Instead, use coconut oil (that is naturally anti-bacterial), or a cloth friendly product like Simply Bee Baby Bum Balm, if you feel the need to use something.
