Description

Whether it’s for Christmas, a year-end function or a birthday – Crackers just add that unbeatable element of fun and surprise!

But the store-bought crackers are most often filled with cheap, low-quality and unwanted plastic items that inevitably end up in the trash can, and from there in landfill. They are literally meant for the moment when you decorate the table, until a moment after they’re popped, nothing more. In essence – the cheap junk inside becomes an environmentally costly problem, that long outlasts that single moment of fun when the cracker is popped!

That’s where the creative Upcycle team has stepped up the standards – they make these crackers by hand, from reused paper and toilet rolls, and fill them lovely and useful small hand-made gifts. These little gifts will not only be desired for their utilitarian worth and durable quality, but will be appreciated for their creative reuse of waste materials and spark conversation and admiration for their beauty.

It may seem pricey per cracker – but the price is mostly for the cool, surprising, useful, quality handmade items inside. Not the cheap junk from store-bought crackers! What can you expect to find inside? A big variety of hand-made items that’s normally worth between R15 and R90 each, and each made from upcycled waste materials.

Note the colours and motifs are completely random, being made from waste there is little standardisation of colours and each item is unique.
