Essential Hot / Cold Cooking Combo for Loadshedding
R1,100.00
This hero-combo is a life-saver in times of load shedding, power cuts or camping! It keeps the hot stuff hot, and the cold stuff cold, regardless of whether there’s electricity. In fact, it makes life so much easier, and saves so much energy (i.e. $$$), that you’ll want to use it any time, anywhere!
The combo consists of:
- A 2-piece hot bag (non-electric slow cooker), proudly made in SA from upcycled waste
- A lunch cooler bag, proudly made in SA from upcycled waste
- A 750ml double-wall vacuum thermal flask, made from stainless steel
The hot bag is a thermal slow cooker, where you heat food on a fire, or an electric / gas stove for a few minutes, then transfer the pot into the hot bag to continue cooking over the next few minutes up to several hours, depending on what dish you’re making. The lunch cooler bag has a thick thermal lining, to keep your lunch cold all day long! The thermal flask is a double-wall vacuum type, made from food grade stainless steel, and will keep liquids cold for up to 18 hours, and hot liquids hot for up to 12 hours. All of these have been carefully designed and manufactured, with sustainability, environmental footprint, longevity, quality and most of all, effectiveness, in mind.
Don’t let loadshedding steal your joy – wise up, gear up, and cheer up!
Description
What a brilliant way to beat load shedding! Here’s what you get:
Upcycled Hot Bag (Non-Electric Slow Cooker)
A non-electric cooking aid, that saves energy, money, CO2 emissions, it’s made from waste, and it makes your food healthier and tastier! Can’t get better than that!
These thermal cooker bags use 30 – 80% the energy of conventional cooking methods. You bring a pot of food to the boil on a stove, oven or fire, then let it simmer for 5 minutes. Once simmering, you turn off the heat and transfer the pot to the slow cooker thermal bag, place the bag’s lid on and secure it snugly. Leave the food inside the bag to cook to completion, thus saving electricity, fire wood, gas or whatever else you would normally use. It not only saves energy, but also money, because energy is expensive! And because it saves energy, it also reduces your carbon footprint. It uses less water than conventional cooking, and results in tastier, healthier food because it cooks at a lower temperature. Bonus – it’s made entirely from upcycled corporate waste, diverted from landfill.
Plasticity Lunch Cooler Bag
A fun, funky and functional upcycled cooler bag for lunch, snacks or whatever else needs to be kept hot or cold.
The outer material is almost leather-like, handmade by fusing several layers of coloured waste plastic bags together, to form a thick waterproof yet pliable sheet, which is then cut and sewn. Even the label is made this way. The inner liner is a high quality insulating foil for thermal retention (keeps hot stuff hot, and cold stuff cold). The handles are made from organic, long-wearing hemp. The workmanship and all the trims are extremely neat, and the end result is a completely vegan, luxury boutique item that is sure to turn heads!
The Re-Store Thermal Flask
These stainless steel thermal flasks are highly functional, with a comfortable grip, as well as good-looking. They are double-walled and vacuum sealed to keep liquids cold for over 18 hours and hot for over 12 hours. Perfect to keep hydrated for sports, yoga, hiking, camping, out in the town, or every day office or home use. Ideal for those intense bouts of loadshedding!
Stainless steel is a fantastic option to store food and liquids, because it does not break like glass or ceramics, it is stable across a wide range of temperatures, it is chemically non-reactive, and it won’t leach chemicals into your food or beverage, or pollute waterways (unlike plastic!) It is strong, lightweight, durable, will last a lifetime, and is fully recyclable. A real investment!
