Beeswax wraps are a natural, reusable and earth-friendly alternative to single-use plastic cling wrap. It combines a food-safe tree gum with beeswax and oil, to create a sticky layer on a thin sheet of (food-safe) cloth, which stick to bowls, dishes and itself. It sometime needs a little body heat to soften up the wax, before use. It’s perfect to cover salad bowls, cheese, serving trays, wrap sandwiches, wrap left-over cut fruits and veggies, and an assortment of other versatile food storage functions, to keep food fresh without the plastic! It is however not recommended to use with fish and meat. Once you are done, wipe it down with luke warm water and a tiny bit of mild detergent, dry it, and you’re good to go again!
These Simply Bee beeswax wraps have cute daisy and bee motives, printed on organic cotton, with pine resin, jojoba oil and beeswax. It should last about a year with regular use and good maintenance. Thereafter, you can either refresh the beeswax layer yourself to keep using it, or compost it – unlike cling wrap!
