Holisteeq is an online store that aims to take the pain out of trying to live a zero-waste, sustainable, organic, wholesome life, so that sustainability is achievable and realistic for the majority of South Africans. Humble beginnings, but big dreams to bring about sustainable change on an impactful scale!

Every physical thing we humans buy, comes from somewhere, has a finite lifetime, then goes somewhere. When you throw it, and its packaging, away, it goes somewhere. There is no such place as “away” – it does not go away when you throw it away!

We at Holisteeq offer products that take into account how the products are made, where it is made, by whom it is made, from what it is made. We take into account what it does during its useful lifetime, the quality, how well it works, the potential harm or good it can do, the impact its use will have (on the users, bystanders, community, waterways, air, soil and wildlife) and how long it will last. We take into account packaging and its impact – with strong preference to nude, or biodegradable, or high-quality reusable and durable, or fully recyclable packaging, or with reduced plastic. We take into account affordability, fair trade compensation and availability. In doing so, we hope to strike a balance to bring you the best products – for you, society and the environment – at the best prices, while remaining a viable business that can grow its offering and pay fair wages to the many makers of our products.
