Whether you’re starting out on your environmentally friendly, zero-waste, natural, healthy and clean journey, or have been at it for a while, or are a natural pro at natural living… You must have encountered the same problems we have:

Some eco-friendly, healthy alternatives are just soooo hard to find, or soooo expensive, or soooo time-consuming, or soooo fake and greenwashed, that it frustrates your attempt at living life better. You know – those things that sucks your courage, motivation and energy dry. It detracts from just living your life.

We, at Holisteeq, have of course ran into these problems, which is why we started the shop. We aim to take the pain out of trying to live a zero-waste, sustainable, organic, wholesome life, so that sustainability is achievable and realistic for the majority of South Africans.

We don’t need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly.

The Holisteeq Balanced Approach

We strive to become a viable environmentally friendly alternative to supermarkets that are usually filled with plastic, toxins and environmentally destructive sourcing and manufacturing processes.

We will achieve this by striking a practical, systematic balance in our product offering:

• Supporting environmentally sustainable farming, processing, manufacturing, warehousing, transport and packaging. Environmental responsibility lies across the entire value chain and product life cycle, from soil to your hands back to soil.
• Supporting and encouraging local communities and businesses in their endeavours to create sustainable products and services. Our price range will also cater to many income tiers, to be inclusive in our customer base.
• Strict evaluation and transparency of ingredients, processes, and packaging to promote physical health and avoid things known or suspected to cause harm.
• Giving our customers peace of mind, knowing we are screening products on their behalf, and publishing relevant content that makes living better, easier.

The Holisteeq Winning Formula

The keys to becoming a viable alternative, in our eyes are:

• Holistic approaches to environmental sustainability, social responsibility, mental wellbeing and physical vitality
• Great service, partnerships and communication across the value chain, from roots to tips to your hands
• Authentic products and transparency, with no bullshitting or green-washing
• Options that cater to a broad customer base from different demographics across South Africa’s vast economic gaps (this is indeed a huge challenge, but one worth aiming for!)

We are just starting out, building the shop up from the ground. Small beginnings, but big dreams. We hope to grow beyond just our humble beginnings, to truly enable most South Africans, no matter their budget or location, to live more sustainably. For now though, we hope to bring you the things you need most, growing our range bit by bit. For now, the shop will be run online. Delivery options include door-to-door courier or pick-up at a location close to you via Pargo or Pudo. Free delivery for spending R500 or more!
